M82 "Cigar" Galaxy NGC 3034

An irregular edge-on galaxy view.

Magnitude: 9.5
Location: Ursa Major
Date: Sept 25/04
Exposures: 133
Exposure length: 4 seconds
Amp on setting: OFF
Brightness: 100
Gain: 40

Notes: Some drift is evident as smudged stars. 4 second exposures got this Mag 9.5 object nicely, although longer exposures may bring out some subtlety in the outer regions. A bright core makes for a difficult shot to balance.
